Welch eine kluge Entscheidung ist es doch zum 49. Jahrestag des Exils des Dalai Lama und im Jahr der Olympischen Spiele zu protestieren. Wenn die ganze Welt zu schaut, ist eine Unterdrückung der Proteste nicht ganz so einfach wie damals in auf dem Platz des Himmlischen Friedens. Mit der Ausrichtung der Olympischen Spiele, die weltweit für Gleichheit und Fairness stehen, können sich die Führer nicht mehr allzu offensichtlich gewalttätigen Lösungen ihrer Minderheiten-Problem hingeben. Und doch bleibt doch vieles im Verborgenen, bleibt vieles unverständlich. Die KPC setzt alles daran, die Deutungs- und Propaganda-Hoheit der olympischen Spiele zu behalten. Das schreit geradezu nach einer freien Debatte über deren Vorgehensweise.Also, lasst uns erst beobachten, dann deuten…
#1 Achtung zebrechlich
Ein kompletter Boykott der olympischen Spiele würde mehr schaden denn nutzen. Er könnte zu einem Anti-westlichen Isolationismus führen und China ganz dem Einfluß des Westens entreißen. Und: Ein Boycott wäre wie ein Bumerang. Anstatt dass er die Tibeter unterstützt und die Chinesen bestraft, würde er die Tibeter bestrafen und die Chinesen nur vor den Kopf stoßen…>WEITER (englisch)

Es sind drei Dinge die China anders und damit auch den Umgang mit ihm schwerer machen: Nummer eins ist der Stolz. Nummer zwei das Guanxi. What a wise decision not only to protest on the 49th anniversary of Dalai Lamas exile but also in the year of Olympics. With eyes watching all over the world it won’t be as easy as in good Tiananmen square times. Hosting the world games which symbolise the equality of nations as well as sportmens fairness, the leading heads of china can not allow themselves inner-political solutions of violence against their minorities. Still one is trying its best to direct in this play and ring down the curtain. This is calling for a general discussion about this countries politics.
So lets not loose contact with this, and observe a little first..
